Mary Bro

Mary Bro grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado dancing and living a very active life. After high school she pursued a degree in American Dance Pedagogy at the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Arts Management at Oklahoma City University. She intensely studied the art of teaching dance while also continuing her dance training. Mary has trained in many styles including jazz, contemporary, lyrical, jazz funk, hip hop, tap, rhythm tap, and ballet. She has both performed with and worked backstage for the American Spirit Dance Company. She also earned a 200 hour teaching certification in power yoga. This enlightening experience affected not only her everyday life and personal yoga practice, but also the way she teaches dance. Mary enjoys teaching all ages, is very passionate about anatomy and safety in dance, and wants dancers in her class to be safe, enjoy movement, and learn skills for dancing and for life. Mary regards teaching as one of life’s greatest privileges. She moved to Dallas, Texas shortly after graduating from OCU and is very excited to be a part of the Preston Center Dance family.
